2 – Mandla’s Day 2021
March 22nd was proclaimed Mandla’s Day in the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo, Mandla’s hometown.
To celebrate the proclamation and the honour that was given to Mandla and the Mandla’s Foundation, a few events were organized in the community.
This year 2021, donations were made to:
– Willow Square Centre for Seniors (a variety of games for the seniors)
– Wood Buffalo Hospital ( Birth bags for newborns)
– Wood Buffalo Municipal Library (books about diversity and inclusion)
– Ecole St Paul School (books about diversity and inclusion).
A virtual event was also organized to allow people who knew and loved Mandla in the community and elsewhere to remember Mandla.
During this virtual event people attended from Africa, Europe, USA, Montreal, Toronto and of course in Alberta.
